Meet Bernard Généreux

Mr. Bernard Généreux is a successful entrepreneur hailing from La Pocatière. Married and a father of two children, he is also a loving grandfather to four grandchildren.

In 2013, Mr. Généreux expanded his expertise by obtaining a certificate in corporate governance from Laval University’s Directors’ College.

In addition to his entrepreneurial career, he has shaped his social and political commitment in multiple ways. As a dedicated volunteer, effective administrator, and compassionate citizen, he knows how to mobilize and bring people together. With the recognized energy and passion, he strongly advocates for causes and issues that resonate with him.

His political journey began in 2005 when he was elected as the mayor of his beloved hometown. Recognizing his strong leadership qualities, the constituents of Montmagny-L’Islet-Kamouraska-Rivière-du-Loup elected him as their Member of Parliament in 2009. Since then, he has gained the trust and support of the community, being re-elected in 2015, 2019, and 2021. He makes it a priority to traverse the riding and listen to the people, organizations, and elected officials of the region.

Within the Parliament, Mr. Généreux is a dedicated member of the Standing Committee on Official Languages (LANG). Additionally, he shares his entrepreneurial expertise as a member of the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology (INDU), working to support businesses and drive innovation in the country.

Mr. Généreux also plays an essential role as a member of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Branch of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (CAPF), fostering connections and collaborations among Francophone nations.
